I must admit I wasn't actually familiar with The Goose Girl before reading Little Thieves, so everything managed to be a surprise which I really enjoyed. We've seen a resurgence of retellings from the antagonist perspective (I know I loved Stepsister and Poisoned is high up on my to-read list) and I always find myself loving the twists. It follows a princess who has her identity stolen by her 'evil maid'. Have you heard the tale of The Goose Girl? It's a German fairy tale that might not be quite as well known as Cinderella or Snow White but is definitely interesting.
